Then, we’ll travel into Harriman Fjord, renowned for one of the most active glaciers in the Sound, Surprise Glacier. We’ll take some time in front of this tidewater glacier to watch for calving – where massive ice pieces fall from the face and into the water, creating a sound best described by the natives of this area as “White Thunder”. 	Cruise with a National Forest Service Ranger: All of our cruises are narrated by a Chugach National Forest Service Ranger. They provide an insider’s view of this area, and are available all day to teach you about the natural history of the area – they are your personal guide through the Sound. They’ll also work with the kids on the popular “Junior Ranger” program. Always a hit!
