OPTION ONE... Drive Yourself

Whittier is an easy 60 mile drive southeast from Anchorage, with lots to see on the way. Be sure to check out the local attractions on your drive, from numerous photo stops along the famed Turnagain Arm, to the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center, Portage Glacier, and the longest tunnel in North America or join up with one of our popular transportation packages! Allow 1.5 hours to drive from Anchorage to the Whittier Tunnel. North Americas longest shared tunnel is open every hour on the half hour & we recommend taking the 10:30am tunnel from Bear Valley to Whittier for the 26 Glacier Cruise and the 11:30 am tunnel for the Glacier Quest Cruise..

OPTION TWO... Rail & Cruise Combo

Ride the famed Alaska Railroad along the shores of Turnagain Arm through the glacially carved Portage Valley. You will travel through North Americas longest shared tunnel on your way to Whittier, where your adventure awaits! Our cruise dock is just across the street from the Railroad Depot.

OPTION THREE... Cruise & Coach Combo

Leave the driving to us! Phillips Cruises provides daily transportation to Whittier along the scenic Seward Highway designated a scenic byway by the US Forest Service. You will travel through Portage Valley, past Portage Glacier, on your way to the longest shared tunnel in North America. Through the tunnel will emerge the town of Whittier, where your cruise adventure begins!
