Seating Info

Phillips Cruises and Tours, LLC offers comfortable inside seating on the main deck and second deck of both vessels. The interior areas are heated and tables allow for comfortable meal service. Large picture windows surround the seating areas with excellent viewing opportunities from every location on the vessels. Seats are reserved based on your confirmation date and organized to best accommodate the number of guests on each reservation. We encourage advance reservations in order to comfortably accommodate all guests.

During the cruise, guests are welcome to move freely about the vessel while we are underway. There is also ample outside deck space for all guests to get an up-close view of the glaciers and wildlife we encounter during your glacier cruise.

M/V Klondike Express

The M/V Klondike Express is a first class choice for glacier viewing in Prince William Sound. From the moment you step on board the well-appointed vessel and courteous staff welcomes every guest on board. Throughout the vessel, a commissioned series of art work reflects the Alaska Native heritage of the People of Prince William Sound.

This spacious catamaran is Coast Guard certified to carry 332 passengers and crew. Guests board on the main deck. Seating is almost equally divided between the main and upper deck. Both decks are enclosed with large picture windows, restrooms on the aft portion of each deck and outside viewing areas.

The main deck has outside aft space for viewing, as well as the bow of the vessel. The bow doors are only opened when the vessel has reduced speed or is stopped for viewing glaciers or wildlife. There is ample room for guests to get an up-close view from the main deck. This is also where our crew goes fishing for ice to put in our signature drinks. Try a Glacier Ice Margarita with fresh glacier ice!

Many outdoor enthusiasts opt to spend time on the "red deck” or second deck aft. This viewing area is sheltered from the wind and allows guests to sit back and relax as they watch the beauty of the glaciers fade into the distance.

The wheelhouse is located on the third deck along with large outdoor viewing areas which may be accessed throughout the cruise. Step outside to listen to natural wonders surrounding you as glaciers calve or a Steller sea lion growls at his mate.

M/V Glacier Quest

The M/V Glacier Quest is a very stable catamaran Coast Guard certified to carry 149 passengers and crew. Guests board on the main deck which can accommodate 113 guests and the second deck seats 36 guests.

The main deck seating area has terrific views on all sides and an outside viewing area on the bow. This deck allows for easy access to the restrooms, snack bar and saloon, and self-serve complimentary hot tea, coffee and ice water station.

The wheelhouse is located on the second deck. A wrap-around deck on the second deck gives easy access to see the wildlife from either side boat.

The third deck with an open air observation and viewing area allows guests ample room to take in the sights along the way. Benches are available for guests to share during the cruise while viewing towering mountain peaks and ribbons of waterfalls from the third deck.

ADA Accessibility

The M/V Klondike Express can accommodate most guests with special physical requirements. A ramp and low threshold at the entrance allow for easy boarding. Guests utilizing motorized scooters find the access on and off the Klondike Express relatively easy to navigate. Seating is reserved on the main deck and passengers may transfer to a booth or remain in their chair, whichever is more comfortable for them.

The M/V Glacier Quest boarding platform has three steps and the entrance to the vessel requires a step over a raised threshold. The main deck has a raised seating area in the middle of the vessel that requires one step to access. Seating at tables on the perimeter is available for guests with limited mobility who can walk short distances to reach the restroom and outside viewing areas. If you require the use of a wheelchair during your cruise, we strongly recommend taking our 26 Glacier Cruise or our Sunset Glacier Cruise on the M/V Klondike Express.

Each vessel has a handicapped accessible restroom, full-service bar and access to outdoor viewing areas on the main deck. Space is limited, so please advise us of any special physical requirements at the time of your reservation. Neither vessel has an elevator to the second or third decks.

Upon arrival in Whittier, a limited number of handicap permit parking space are available in the Cliffside Marina parking lot adjacent to the pier. A parking pass can be purchased at the entrance to the parking lot. Please see an agent in our ticket office if assistance is needed by our crew from the parking lot to the pier or onto the vessel.

Transportation to Whittier is available by coach, with three steps or by rail with a motorized lift. Advance notice and confirmation are required if transportation assistance is needed.

Groups and large parties are seated together when booked at least 30-days in advance as seating availability allows.
